Here is one of our last beekeeping field days for the 2012 year, and this one is going to be a doozie! We are going to have a look at varroa mites and check their populations in a couple of the hives. We will look at healthy colony buildup in both the shaken split made in May of this year as well as the swarm that we moved in 2 weeks ago in to a hive on site! We will also have a look at a weak hive that had water damage to see its development! Come for noon, eat lunch with other beekeepers and beekeeping enthusiasts, and then get ready to beekeep around 1pm.
