As you may know, the honeybees from the Community Hive Collaborative Purchase come in May 13th, 2012. So, about a month after their arrival, I am offering a chance to see how they are doing! OnJune 16th, 2012 from 12-4pm, I (Eliese Watson) and A.B.C will be offering open house to come and view the bees, ask questions, and maybe do some hive manipulations with both Top Bar and Langstroth hives, like adding supers, maybe making a split, or observing queen cells. A.B.C has extra hats and veils, so come out and see the bees fly around and learn a bit more about how to keep bees in the city of Calgary!!

Here are the event details!

A.B.C Open House: Hive Inspection and Potluck

Date: June 16th, 2012

Time: 12-4pm

Location: The AREA, 1119 10 Ave SE Calgary, AB T2G 0S8

This is a potluck event, so please bring something to share! There will be heaps of honey to try and maybe some mead to sample!

Note: Please bring a long sleeved white shirt, and some plastic dishwashing gloves if you would like your hands covered when handling bees, but that is not necessary as the bees are gentle as can bee!
