Regionalized Honey Bees Ticket Bundle | Master Academy 2022

$75.00

Master Academy 2022 will explore the wondrous world of bees, broken down into 4 themes throughout the year: Conservation and Community, Honey Bees in Isolation, Native Bees, and Non-European Honey Bees. Each theme will host its own quarter of the year, and each month will feature a webinar diving deeper into our understanding of the world through bees and the people who keep them.

By recognizing our narrow lens of North American “beekeeping”, our aim for the 2022 Master Academy is to open our eyes not only to the cultural and managerial diversity of beekeepers, but the diversity of bees and their adaptations for survival. The world of bees is more diverse, dynamic, and evolved than we can imagine, and through this years Master Academy, we invite you to join us on this journey of WONDER, to explore the world as you have never seen or met it before, using bees as our guide to witnessing the subtle inner workings of human and bee relationships. This webinar series is meant to smash convention by interviewing people who can share about the philosophy of what gardening, beekeeping and stewarding the land can provide people. We are talking about disrupting consumer culture with our backyards, rooftops and windowsills. We will be exploring what empathy, humanism and connection to nature all have in common, and learn from our speakers their experiences and case studies that have shown that connection to nature changes culture and communities.

By bringing together honey bee researchers and mentors, we are inviting you to join us in a 12 month, 12 speaker event, running the entire year of 2022.

In North America, we straddle a unique relationship with European honey bees (apis. mellifera) as we manage this non-native bee stock imported from Europe, Asia and Africa, while potentially putting endemic non-honey bee species at risk.

In our sessions about regionalized honey bees, we will be connecting with beekeepers who not only maintain honey bees that are native to their areas, but are true stewards in maintaining hyper-regional sub-species stocks and work to conserve the unique genetics of their bees. We will be learning about the cultural and ecological implications of the globalization and what beekeepers are doing to protect the foundational genetic grandmothers of our North American honey bee populations.

You Will Always Have Access To The Recorded Presentations after the live event, and special bonus events will be launched along the way, offering opportunities to socialize and enquire, connect and grow with an explosive group of beekeepers, mentors and conservation enthusiasts.
